Working at Sanchez Group will provide you with the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse workforce of extremely talented professionals, many of whom are at the top of their fields.Duties and ExpectationsBoundary Research and Analysis:Conduct thorough research on property boundaries, including historical records, legal documents, and previous surveys.Analyze and interpret survey data to determine accurate property boundaries.Identify discrepancies or conflicting information and resolve boundary-related issues.
    CAD Drafting:Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create accurate and detailed survey drawings.Prepare precise boundary plats, maps, and legal descriptions.Ensure adherence to industry standards and local regulations in drafting and documentation.
    Field Visits:Conduct occasional field visits to verify and gather data related to property boundaries.Use surveying instruments and equipment to measure and record precise locations and dimensions.Collaborate with field crews to ensure accurate data collection and resolve any field-related challenges.
    Documentation and Reporting:Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation of survey findings, including boundary analysis and field observations.Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to legal requirements in all documentation.Communicate survey results and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
    Compliance and Regulations:Stay updated with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to land surveying.Ensure compliance with surveying standards, codes, and ethical guidelines.Address any legal or regulatory issues that arise during the surveying process.
    Quality Assurance:Conduct quality checks and reviews of survey data, documentation, and deliverables.Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision.Continuously improve surveying processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Professional Development:
    Stay up to date on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in land surveying.Attend professional development workshops, seminars, and conferences to expand knowledge and skills.Pursue relevant certifications or licenses to enhance professional qualifications.
    Job Requirements:Experience: 5-15 yearsExperience in some combination of Transportation surveys, Land development, ALTA, Boundary and Topographic mapping, and utilitiesProfessional Licensure is required (State of Illinois required, and/or Indiana & Wisconsin)Strong written and oral communication skillsAble to thrive in a fast-paced environmentSelf-starter, self-motivated; capable of staying focused with limited to no supervisionValid driver's license with insurable driving recordProficient in either AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation softwareProficient in Trimble surveying products

    Sanchez and Associates provides services to a wide variety of clients that include Engineers, Designers & Architects in Commercial, State and Federal Organizations.Responsibilities:● CAD Drafting using MicroStation software.● Transportation experience● Job also requires ability to evaluate alternatives and select solutions, manage multiple concurrent projects● Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed● Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to visit project sites if necessary.● Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision

  • Survey Crew Chief

    Job Overview
    The Survey Crew Chief will support the project team by leading field aspects of a project, assisting Project Manager in creating and monitoring project budget, maintaining project schedule, training and mentoring crew members as well as other team members, communicating with management, and assembling and managing project teams and progress, all under minimal supervision. In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency within the following responsibilities and competencies.

    Responsibilities
    ● Work with Project Manager / Team Leader to establish project plan and objectives including: timeframes, budgets, staffing, and project schedule.● Direct field Crew Members by assigning responsibilities and overseeing all work performed.● Understand project scope and convey requirements to Crew Members.● Maintain a safe work environment by complying with the client's and/or site-specific Health and Safety.● Perform survey activities such as: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile and cross section surveys.● Perform physical tasks such as: line clearing, pounding stakes, setting monuments, and locating critical underground objects.● Record field notes legibly and accurately.● Communicate effectively with crew members and other survey staff using surveying terminology.● Ensure survey crew performance and provide leadership to field crews including: train, supervise, coach, and mentor crew members and less-experienced crew chiefs, assist Team Leader with crew member performance reviews and foster teamwork within the field crews● Assist in project control by adhering to set project parameters.● Recommend changes in design, specifications, budget, and schedule, consistent with project objectives.● Communicate with clients, regulatory agencies, and the public as needed. This communication should be directly controlled by the project manager.● Share project information and other field observations deemed pertinent to the project.● Meet client needs and achieve project profitability by maintaining project budget and schedule and report results to management and/or team.● Ensure product quality and client's reputation by following Product Quality Manual and established standards.● Maintain professional and technical knowledge including reviewing professional and market segment publications and participate in applicable professional societies and trade associations as authorized by Team Leader.

    Qualifications
    ● Experience in transportation is preferred.● Highly proficient in mathematics and measurements.● Highly proficient in the principles of performing basic surveys (i.e., leveling, traversing, etc.).● Highly proficient in basic plan reading (i.e., topographic surveys, boundary surveys, etc.).● Knowledge of survey ethics and technical standards.● Highly proficient in construction procedures● Highly proficient in required safety procedures and practices● 5+ years experience
